Every body is a yoga body – regardless of shape, size, colour or age
Over the years I’ve attended many yoga classes, workshops and retreats and continue to do so. I’ve seen that yoga offers equal benefit to all who practise. Every body is welcome to my classes, yoga and mindfulness practised together will nourish mind, body and soul.
I first experienced yoga at school (in place of hockey!) unaware at 16 years of age of the treasure I had uncovered. After college, I spent 15 years working for a number of multi-national organisations in sales and marketing roles. Following the birth of my first child I returned to yoga, mainly with a view to getting back into shape – but soon realised that something much more profound was at play. I continued to juggle work and parenting, but felt compelled to share the gift of yoga and so began my teacher training with the British Wheel of Yoga, qualifying in 2004, and have been teaching ever since!
A deepening interest in mindfulness and meditation led me to Swami Saradananda in 2011 and I studied with her for the Certificate in Teaching Meditation, and have since attended Vipassana meditation retreats to support and deepen my personal practice.
In 2015 I trained in the art of Thai Yoga Massage with the Mudhita School of Thai Massage in London, and in 2019 followed this up with the advanced training in Thailand. I offer this therapeutic treatment to my yoga clients and it has also informed my teaching both 1:1 and in class – contact me directly for more details.
